STARDUST DOWN PHOTOS
The Stardust Hotel is no more. Early this morning the remaining structure was imploded into a large pile of steel and concrete with an even larger cloud of dust. The building quickly came down in yet another Las Vegas perfect demolition.
Flipchip Stardust demolition photos after the jump.
The implosion was preceded by a terrific fireworks display that produced fiery sky scenes inspired by deep space views from the Hubble space telescope. Great cloud nebulae filled with burning points of starlight appeared again and again above the Stardust skeleton. The pyrotechnic show was a most fitting end to the Stardust Hotel’s many decades in the center of the Las Vegas Las Vegas Strip.
And now…the Stardust will always be a part of the Las Vegas strip. When the explosives turned the hotel tower into a great cloud that billowed up and then gently floated up and down the strip depositing the “Stardust” as it drifted through other strip construction projects. When the Wynn Encore and the Venetian Palazzo are completed there will be a little of that ‘Stardust’ included in both resorts. RIP Stardust memories.
