Paris Hilton wins at blackjack, more to the story?

People magazine and other media outlets are “reporting” that Paris Hilton won $30,000 over the weekend while playing blackjack at Wynn Las Vegas.

It was Hilton’s 31st birthday on Feb. 17, and she Tweeted how much she won and that she loves gambling.

Hey, we’re not above posting something similar, but some things strike us as being odd.

One, she’s now welcomed back into the Wynn casino.  Remember when she and her now ex-boyfriend were arrested for cocaine possession in 2010?  The boyfriend was a nightclub guy at Wynn, and both were banned from the property.

Two, she makes nightclub appearances in Las Vegas, mostly because she gets paid.  According to a lawsuit filed against Hard Rock because they didn’t pay her in 2009, her fee is $100,000 per appearance.

Three, she didn’t just post on Twitter, she posted on her blog under “appearances.”  There, she has an image of her playing blackjack, though it’s of her playing poker.

Four, she also pimped out the Botero restaurant and XS, where her new boyfriend Afrojack is the resident deejay.  Both are inside Wynn.

Five, Steve Wynn is embroiled in the news with business partner Kazuo Okada.  Wynn recently bought out Okada, who sued Wynn to find out about a multi-million dollar donation to the University of Macau, among other reasons.

Five, $30,000 is chump change for Paris.  She’s said to be worth $100 million.  Let’s say you’re worth $100,000.  Winning $30,000 for her is like winning $30 for you.

We suspect some publicity shenanigans going on.  Want to win at blackjack in Vegas and have fun hanging with celebrities?  If Paris Hilton can, so can you.

Or maybe she’s just lucky and wanted to share about her good fortune.
