NBA Star Charles Oakley Files lawsuit against CityCenter’s Aria Hotel

Charles Oakley, 6’9″ 245 lb former NBA Knicks power forward, has filed suit for unspecified damages from the Aria Hotel Casino located in MGM Entertainment’s CityCenter on the Las Vegas strip.  The security guards are also named as defendants in the suit that states the May, 2010 altercation left Oakley with severe injuries requiring a trip to a hospital emergency room.

Celebrity being sued for $20 million for transmitting herpes in Las Vegas

As you’re well aware, we’re a sucker for good celebrity gossip.

This one, by way of TMZ.com, has an A-List celebrity being sued for $20 million by someone for allegedly transmitting a sexually transmitted disease (herpes).

The celeb, who is internationally known, appears on TV and film, and is worth $100 million, is also claimed to have made a sex tape of the encounter in a Las Vegas penthouse suite for posterity.

There’s a bidding war for that tape, with some prices offering as high as $1 million.

Metro Police in Las Vegas sent a strong message to bad guys entertaining the thought of robbing a casino, if you do the crime you’ll do the time and right quickly, too.  Two local men were arrested Thursday and charged with armed robbery resulting from the early Wednesday morning hold-up of the Rio Casino.

Las Vegas based Light Group Nightclubs sued in Federal Court

A complaint was filed in federal court by a cocktail server previously employed by nightclubs operated by Las Vegas based The Light Group LLC.  The suit alledges the defendants failed to provide the plantiff with a non-hostile work enviroment while promoting use of illegal drugs, dangerous consumption of alcohol and promiscuous sexual contact with customers.

Las Vegas Metro Police are saying the early Monday morning shooting on I-15 began when a dust-up occurred between possible gang members at the Crown Club located inside the Rio Resort.  The violence continued when both groups left the club and headed north on the Las Vegas Freeway which runs along side the off-strip Rio.

Motley Crue frontman, Vince Neil, reportedly will plead guilty to DUI charges when he goes to court January 26 in Las Vegas. He will serve two weeks in jail beginning February 15th and following the slammer time Neil will do another two weeks of house arrest.

The singer was arrested last June after leaving the Tres Rios Cantina, which he owns, at the Las Vegas Hilton. Metro officers pulled over his speeding Lamborghini then tagged him for being just over the Nevada 0.08 blood alcohol legal limit.

Las Vegas strip hiking Saturday night was dominated by Metro PD presence up and down the famous boulevard. Plenty of the boys (and gals) in the yellow windbreakers emblazoned with the familiar METRO POLICE logo was observed.  They were even checking the card slappers that clog the crowded sidewalks.    A couple were in hand cuffs apparently waiting for transportation to the downtown lockup.
