Gold is back in the news after the lawsuit filed Monday by Bruce Crispin Leyser (another Hollywood producer) claims he has proof that Gold promised him half the profits from the BoDog comped $10K seat in the WSOP Main Event if Lespin would help him fullfill the terms of the deal and now he wants his six million big. Apparently the Chief District Judge, Kathy Hardcastle, found enough substance to sign a temporary restraining order preventing Gold from picking up his $12 million in winnings. NeverWinPoker.com has the full list of links to the details of the latest Gold news from the 2006 WSOP main event. As reported in The Las Vegas Sun a hearing has been set for September 1st in District Court.

Steve Wynn has once again decided to rewrite another of the long standing unspoken Vegas rules about employee tip sharing and will now give his first level supervisors a share of the tip pool.

What does this mean to the highest paid dealers in Las Vegas? For most it will be a loss of $30K or more annually. Instead of the over $100K avergage yearly earnings including tips of Wynn dealers they will now drop down to $70K. As expected the dealers are quite unhappy with the pay cut but Wynn claims it’s required to attract dealers to join the supervisory ranks, a position without tip money paying around $60K. No one is rushing to quit the Wynn as a result of the change because they remain the highest paid dealers in Vegas. Look for other strip properties to follow Wynn’s lead and adopt this new tip sharing policy.
