Okay, so no more online poker. Where are the most +EV places to play? Yes, we’re talking to YOU, Las Vegas locals.
Your best bet of course is anywhere on the Strip on a holiday weekend (hello Earth Day that we forgot about, hello Easter, hello National Prime Rib Day, hello Memorial Day).
But man, the Strip is so crowded and what an effort to get there.
How about cheaper rake (yay!), a shorter commute (double yay!), and a decent game where you can run over the tight crusty locals?
Add a $100,000 freeroll hold’em tournament on top of that, and sounds like a bargain.
At South Point, play 100 hours of live poker between now and the end of May, and you’ll get a free entry into their June 14 tourney, where all $100,000 buckaroonies are ponied up by Mr. Michael Gaughan (aka the head muckety muck of South Point).
The top 40 places are paid, with $30,000 going to first, $17,000 to second, and $10,000 to third. And on down to 31st to 40th, which get $300.
Not bad at all.
And here’s how to get extra tourney chips (you normally start with T2000):
* pay $10 for T1000 more
* play 50 hours over the required 100 for T1000 more
* enter a daily $60 tourney for T50 more (three of these tourneys are offered every day)
And, the top 5 players with the most number of hours over 200 will get $200 in cash.
Don’t forget that you’ll still be earning $1/hour in comps.
See you at the South Point poker room!
