November Nine chasing the bracelet
The stage is set and the final nine players from a WSOP Main Event starting field of 6,865 players are now on break until the final able reconvenes November 5-7 to determine the 2011 WSOP Championship winner. The November Nine was determined in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 20th, when John Hewitt pushed all-in and was eliminated in 10th place, $607,882.
Martin Stasko of the Czech Republic topped the field with 40,175,000 in tournament chips, while Samuel Holden joins the exclusive 2011 November Nine as the short stack with 12,375,000 in play money. This year’s champion will collect $8,711,956 for the win plus the most distinguished prize in all of poker, the Main Event Championship Bracelet.
