Over here we invented baseball…and basketball, even the mother of all ball sports, the NFL! What? No? Sunday football isn’t #1, I’m wrong? Yes, I’m way wrong because a distant version of good ol’ NFL football is played ‘over there.’ The World’s #1 sport is the one sport we Americans can’t play. We’re so bad at soccer we have the longest odds to win a World Cup championship…in this century, but you people over there just don’t get it. Let the US win a World Cup Championship and suddenly ‘soccer’ will become America’s newest sports darling and this will motivate my fellow Americans to do the Yank thing and assemble a league of futbol teams that’s the finest money can buy. Then we’ll legitimately win championships. Repeatedly. Just think of the opportunities…TV revenues will soar, merchandising blowing the roof off, evil rich team owners, player’s unions, Escalades and world class profits. You people over there should really think about this.
As horrible as we are at soccer we are that good at another contest, Tournament Poker, and the 48 days of the world championships of poker, the 2006 World Series of Poker, is happening right now, non-stop at the Rio Resort here in Las Vegas. I offer some of my images from the events on Monday.
