WSOP CHAMPION GOLD HEADING TO COURT?
“Check out the 2006 Poker Prof’s 2006 World Series of Poker Blog sponsor, Paradise Poker. The world’s first online poker room and still your best bet, Paradise Poker.“
Jamie Gold continues to make news in the poker world after his 2006 World Series of Poker Championship. Apparently the outside claims on his winnings are just that, undocumented claims. The Las Vegas Review Journal’s Norm Clarke is reporting in his Norm! Vegas Confidential feature that the whole mess may be headed for court to decide what is a real and what isn’t. Jamie’s publicist, Bill Horn, is insisting the BoDog/Gold sponsorship is real although it involves no money, he’s a goodwill Ambassardor for the website. Horn also insist that everything on Jamie Gold’s website, including his claims of personal responsiblility for elevating numerous Hollywood types to the vaulted celebrity “A” list, are true and accurate. The Internet rumors that Jamie owes BoDog $6 million are described by Horn as inaccurate and false. Guess we’ll all have to wait for the lawyers to sort out the mess clouding this year’s WSOP world poker championship.
Plenty of poker action around Las Vegas through the end of the year. The World Series of Poker stops at Harrah’s on the Las Vegas strip in September then moves down the strip to Paris/Bally’s the following month. The World Poker Tour will be pulling into the fabulous Bellagio Resort for the Fifth Annual Five Diamonds Poker Tournament beginning December 1st and continuing throught the 19th. The Fiesta Al lago is the year’s last major poker event concluding a few days before Christmas and the prevailing holiday spirit makes this event one of the most enjoyable poker tournaments of the year. All of the professionals gathered in the Fontana Room at the Bellagio playing for millions in prize money. But first we have the Fifth Annual Fiesta Al Lago at the Bellagio October 2nd through the 19th.
The Bellagio’s Tournament Director, John McClelland, invented the Tournament Director job and knows how to provide players, media and spectators with a most enjoyable experience. Plan now to attend these poker tournaments and maybe you’ll become the next poker superstar.
