The second of two scheduled day ‘twos’ of play for the 2006 World series of Poker Main Event was played Wednesday at the Rio Resort in Las Vegas. The Main Event takes a day off on Thursday before resuming play Friday with all remainging players seated together for the first time. Professional players have been eliminated in mass during the first five days of play so again this year we will probably have another unknown climb to the top of the heap and claim poker’s richest prize. Today’s offering of images from the floor of the 2006 WSOP tournamnent includes a visual hand played today. You are playing in the WSOP Main Event on Friday and find a couple of sixes in the hole. You bet out from your short stack and are called by the player in the three seat that re-raises putting you all-in if you call. You call. He shows a pair of sevens making him a slight favorite over your pair of sixes. The flop comes…

The seven hits the three seat making a set and a strong favorite to win the hand and send you home.

You stand up and began collecting your stuff so you can make a quick exit from this year’s main event poker room. The dealer flips the turn card, a six to give you a set, but you’re still a big underdog and your’re down to only one out.
