We have to admit we're beyond excited about the prospect of the 25-acre Splash Canyon, though unfortunate delays have forced to push back a year.
Originally scheduled to open this Memorial Day weekend, it's now scheduled for spring 2013.
The developers will use the extra time to fine-tune their design, which is expected to be even more than advertised. The associated cost has also increased more than 10 percent to an expected $20 million. Entry prices are currently $30 per adult and $22 for children under 48" tall, though could rise by opening.
Judging from their website, the playground looks like a dream come true, for both children and adults. It will include private cabanas, a beach club deejay, a 17,000 sq. ft. wavepool with waves as high as 3 feet tall, a 1,000-foot-long Lazy River, a RainFortress (a water playground with water guns), and much much more.
Those who have already purchased season passes for this year can either convert to next year or receive refunds via their website.
